Its a Isopogon formosus found near Brookton, Western Australia
Also called the 'Candy Cone' This striking flower has an essence made from it promoted as exuding the qualities of peace, tranquillity and inner quiet. It is possible to grow this spectacular plant in your garden via seed or a cutting (I have just read this and now intend to give it a go...it is, so far, my favorite wildflower). Even in a pot with sandy soil. It would be a great feature. 'Formosus' actually means - beautiful or good looking.

At this point I havent painted the flower - I have a drawing of it - but i will be uploading my progression as i go along. Another reason to...
Western Australia is in full bloom RIGHT NOW - and Mandy is going all over the place to see the wildflowers
And you can follow along on the journy. See each stage of the development of each painting happening right now on social media.
When it comes to the price of putting art on your walls - it is a once off decision - you can buy a carton of wine and it will be gone in a few weeks (depending on how much you drink) whereas if you buy original art - not onl;y will it enhance your life forever - it will also go towards supporting a working artist/p>
This new series of work is being painted on canvases that I made myself from the highest quality materials (beware of cheap shop bought canases that will unexpectedly warp with the weather)
They are still being sold at a reasonable price, because the images will become cards and prints - (which makes owning an original an exclusive investment).
DURING THE CREATION PERIOD - ANYONE WHO BUYS AN ORIGINAL PAINTING WILL ALSO RECIEVE A SET OF CARDS OF THE COMPLETE SERIES OF TEN WILDFLOWER PAINTINGS (when it is completed - so this takes patience)
