Welcome to the first page of the 13th newsletter / micro-website by Mandy Evans Artist. Each month the new set of web pages are themed around one of Mandys series of limited edition prints. This month the featured print is....
From the early drawing series - this limited edition print of The Bridge 1 is one of my favorite limited editions because it is part of an epic story and is very important to me.
This drawing is part of a story that took 7 years from conception to completion. An epic.
The nine drawings tell a story of growth, conflict resolution and evolution.
(This is the three original drawings photoshopped together) Its the begginning. There is as little colour as possible - it is dry - with no abundance , but solid and fundamental. And the people in the sky fly toward each other in oppisote directions.
The flying people represent conflict. They are our thoughts or point of view (our spirit) - they are solid and stand out, flying toward each other with sharp pointy arms
In the second bridge we see the begginning of growth - the sand has turned to water (emotion) - there is the beginning of growth. The people in the sky have come into contact with each other , and they are more harmonised but still different (colours) - they get all wiggly and start to spin out
In the third bridge we have resolution - abundant growth with the water turning into rich fertile soil - there are fountains and fruit and people everywhere.
The people in the sky have each found there own space and have sunk into the background - there is no issue any more
The limited edition print of The Brige 1 has been taken from the center of the first set.
I have been having fun with photoshop placing framed prints of The Bridge 1 in interior design scenes
The mailing is free within australia - and it comes in a great big package (60cm x 80cm)
Imagine getting such a big present - and with some colourful paper and gorgeous big ribbons -Imagine giving such a great present (I did it last christmas - awesome).
The foam-core that makes the package also ends up being really useful for kids to paint and draw on, or to express big designs on or , something I did the other day, was to make a huge wall calander - nothing is wasted.
The value of buying a limited edition print is that it is limited, making them a perfect choice for collectables or gifts
the details are:
All the limited edition prints have been created in runs of 900. This print of Bridges 1 has a healthy amount left
53 cm x 63cm (approximately 18 x 27 inches) before mounting
The limited editions are printed onto a 270gsm Monsa Satin paper by a four colour lithographic process - meaning they are not giclee prints which are made to order out the back on my home printer (and likely to fade) - they have already been created at great expense
Dont hesitating on decorating your house every day, dont live in an unfinished space. Make it beautiful and reflect your individual style.
Every day you don't make the decision to beautify your house - or to buy art that speaks to you , you are doing yourself a disservice. How can you afford to go one more day without a beautiful home...or this print in it
