DHUFISH

The West Australian dhufish (Glaucosoma hebraicum) is a WA fishing icon. It doesn't occur anywhere else. If allowed, they can live up to 40 years. In the drawing there is the juvenile fish, as well as an adult that can grow up to over a meter in size.

A SPECIES UNDER THREAT

The problem being that this fish tastes so good. In the Geographe Bay area of Western Australia, a haven for recreational fishing - the species is being hunted by tens of thousands of divers with gps satellite - it doesnt stand a chance.
