CORAL TROUT aka Leopard Fish

CORAL TROUT

Fishing Western Australia describes the Coral Trout as 'not a trout - but a fierce predator', whereas my personal description is 'right up there with the prettiest fish on the reef'. It is more of a tropical fish and lives in the northern waters of Australia, but I had to paint it because of the colours.

A FISH YOU JUST HAVE TO PAINT

Growing up to a size of one meter this bright orange fish with vivid blue spots must be quite a sight. I included it in the limited edition print 'under the jetty' even though it is not a local fish because it is so striking, it had to go in the painting.
